Terms and Conditions
By registering for or taking part in Another Brick in the SILO ("the CTF"), you agree to these terms. The CTF is co-branded with e2 Cyber and the Safer Internet Project and is run on this website by a third-party host ("we", "the host").
Anyone can play and appear on the leaderboard. Prizes can only be awarded to Australian residents currently residing in Australia who selected this option when registering.
1. The event
1.1 The CTF is an online capture-the-flag competition. It opens on Friday 20 November 2026 at 8:00 pm AEDT and runs for one week.
1.2 SILO, the Secure Infrastructure and Logistics Office, its staff, devices, systems and the events described on this website are fictional. Any resemblance to a real agency or person is coincidental.
1.3 We may change the schedule, challenges or scoring at any time, including during the event.
2. Who can take part
2.1 The CTF is open to anyone, anywhere in the world.
2.2 Each person may hold one account only. Accounts must not be shared.
2.3 If you are under 18, you need permission from a parent or guardian to take part.
3. Prizes
3.1 Prizes are awarded to the top three eligible players on the final leaderboard:
- First place: a financial voucher
- Second place: a 12-month Safer Internet Project subscription
- Third place: a one-hour career consultation with e2 Cyber
3.2 To be eligible for a prize, you must be an Australian resident currently residing in Australia, and you must select this option when registering.
3.3 Players who are not eligible can still compete and appear on the leaderboard. If a top-placed player is not eligible, the prize passes to the next eligible player.
3.4 We may ask winners for reasonable proof of residence before a prize is awarded.
3.5 If a winner does not respond within 14 days of being contacted, the prize may pass to the next eligible player.
3.6 Prizes cannot be transferred or exchanged for cash.
4. Fair play
4.1 Only attack the targets provided for each challenge. This website, its scoreboard, its servers and other players are out of scope.
4.2 Scanning and fuzzing tools may be used against in-scope targets at a reasonable rate. Do not flood or overload any service.
4.3 Do not share flags, solutions or hints with other players while the CTF is running.
4.4 Do not use multiple accounts, automate flag submissions or brute-force the flag form.
4.5 We may remove points, disqualify players or close accounts that break these rules. Our decision is final.
5. Writeups
You may publish writeups and solutions once the CTF has closed.
6. Your responsibility
6.1 Some challenge files may behave like real malware or exploit code. Open them only in an isolated environment, such as a virtual machine.
6.2 You take part at your own risk. The website and challenges are provided as they are. To the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for any loss or damage that comes from taking part.
7. e2 Cyber
Although the CTF is co-branded with e2 Cyber, it is hosted by a third-party provider. Unless you opt in to be contacted by e2 Cyber when registering, e2 Cyber will not receive your registration details.
8. Changes
We may update these terms. The version on this page is the one that applies.
